Send Photos
Methods
Send your photo images one of two ways; electronically by attachment
to Email, or by the US mail, FedEx, or UPS. You choose. Email is fast and free, but if
you have "prints" and no way to scan them, we will do that no
charge. If you want your prints returned you must include a prepaid return
envelope. If your digital images are large please use several Email.
Identification
Clearly include your ad number and your full "registered"
name. If we are not able to match photos and ad, we can not publish. You
may use up to four ( 4 ) photos in a regular classified ad; 1, 2, 3 &
4. The #1 photo will be featured large on the left, and 2 through 4 will
appear vertically in thumbnail to the right. If your photos are not
numbered we will make the selection for you. Remember each photo will be
displayed "full size" with a simple click.
Quality
We may be able to "help" your photos. We can not do
extensive retouch. Out of focus, low contrast, poor resolution,
reflections, etc will display that way. Send the largest available prints
and digital images of at least 640 pixel resolution for good results. Your
photos will be displayed as gif or jpg images full at about 500 pixel
width. We use 85 pixel per inch resolution. Please consider
carefully what your prospect is going to see. We can crop what you
send so tell us your ideas. Caution: A small section of a print will not
display satisfactorily as a much larger image.
Format
There are a number of non standard digital image formats. We work ONLY
with Windows based computers and standard digital formats. We are not
format conversion wizards. We prefer images in either jpg, gif or bit map
format. Please call to discuss any format you suspect is special to a
specific camera or process. Our pricing does not include extensive
reformat and rework. From a MAC computer be certain your settings are for PC
or Windows file compatibility.
What pictures should I use ?
If you have a broad selection consider your situation. Reinforce
your text with your photos. Show those big oaks.
In general activity shots carry unsaid messages that can help. A cookout
or friends visiting as a part of showing your lot says "a good
time" but be careful to include more than Mary from next door.
Include a boating or tennis shot if appropriate. RV is about lifestyle. If
your park is well cared for make sure that shows up in your pictures. Your
husband asleep in the hammock while showing your garden tells a whole story.
Think about what you liked about your property and convey that with words and
pictures too. Don’t forget the magnificent clubhouse...waterfall...
sunset... beach... fishing dock... Four pictures lets you develop
interest. Remember: The only reason for your ad is to cause a call or an
Email.
One last thing. While we will run four pictures you are not limited to
that! When a prospect Emails interest, be prepared with a another five or
ten low resolution images to help you sell. If you have a park model, cabin,
or other major improvement this is very, very, important. She wants to
know all about the Kitchen. He wants to know about your shed. Think this
through a bit. Grab interest in your ad. Follow up with answers to obvious
follow on questions. Remember a picture is worth a 1000 words. Be ready.
