Guiding Principals
The purpose of an AddPage is to provide more information that strengthens a classified
ad by providing in
depth description of location, setting or situation. The
classified ad may then be completely focused on the subject property. We
believe this more comprehensive approach greatly improves effectiveness
.
Printer Friendly Guidelines
Our classified ads are printer friendly and we
suggest your AddPage be too. Follow these
guideline in your own design, or ask that we do. Interested folks will print your
ad and AddPage, too:
1) Fix page size at about 580 pixels wide x 800 pixels high. If your
material is more extensive use multiple pages. Use all of this
area; no other margin is required..
2) Do not use background images. The exception might be a very
light, BODY background that will not be printed by most, but if
printed, will not use excessive ink. Use background color #FFFFFF, and select
other colors for a white background.
3) Be careful about the size and nature of graphic images.
Simple is better. Some printers (computers) really bog down with
extensive complex image translation to print.
4) We set screen margins to about 70 pixels left and 20 pixels top so
that an ad page will be about centered. No setup or printer intervention is
needed to get a useable copy with good layout .
5) We use a full width line top and bottom to show the whole page
printed. Mark your corners. Don’t simply fade away. Let them know they
have it all.
6) Most printers resolve and print your page at a resolution around
100 pixels per inch. Your 580 x 800 pixel page will print 5 3/4 inches by 8 inches
on the page. Consider that your client will see this over and over
again. Look professional on paper.... right from the Internet.
General Guidelines
Consider who might be buying your property. Be assured
they are not interested in the latest FLASH dancing bears. In contrast a
burning campfire might be a nice touch. Remember basic navigation if you plan several
pages. You may include a link to your website but access to your AddPage is from this site only. If
you decide against printer friendly design we suggest a 600 x
800 resolution standard when designing. Keep in mind as more flat panel
monitors are sold resolution is moving toward 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 960, so collapsing
tables etc will display better in general. Your html files, as well as
your image files, scripting, and css files will be kept in the same single
unique folder (subdirectory) so plan target references accordingly. We ask
that you include all needed material with your html. "Get" requests outside of
our servers is discouraged. If this presents difficulty for you please

We want your advertising to succeed. We want your AddPages to communicate
well and have long life as individual properties are bought and sold. We
suggest you ask your clients for feedback. We will support you efforts with
